I’m not sure why but some of my grandchildren decided they wanted to raise chickens. They begged and begged with the promises that they would be the ones to take care of everything.
Any parent or grandparent does know how that usually turns out.
Well they made the family trip to IFA and purchased
six chickens with the thought that they would get eggs and then eventually eat the chickens.
Don’t know about you but I know the latter is never going to happen. Once those kids start giving names and playing with them, there is no chance that you are ever going to talk them into having one for dinner.
Just as I thought they all got names.
What cute little things. And with the oldest sibling checking Google often to see how and what they should be doing.
One of the things they read was that chickens like to be held. So they all held them and loved them as if they were a little puppy or kitten.
It was pretty cute until one of the youngest was holding a chicken and they tried to take it away from him. It is at that time you find out just how strong a 4 year old is.
Trickster was still doing all right after this or so it seemed. Then all of a sudden after a day or two he seemed to be getting a little weak.
Mom and Dad watched this little guy. At least we thought it was a guy.
The girls noticed before they went to bed that night that something could be wrong.
Both prayed with all the faith they had.
The next morning he still wasn’t doing well. Again more faith and prayers by these two little girls.
They went to school hoping to return home and see a well little Trickster.
It wasn’t too long after they had gone to school that I called to check on Trickster. Mom told me that he has passed away and we needed to hurry to IFA to see if we could find another that looked just like him.
We found the new Trickster and carefully placed him in with the other chickens hoping to pull this one off.
When they girls got home they raced over to see Trickster. Both girls were excited and said they couldn’t believe how Trickster was better than he had ever been.
So there you go with the miracle of Faith, Prayers and IFA.
